Cornstarch: grams to cups

Many recipes outside the US list weights. Divide the grams by 112 (the typical weight of one cup) to get cups. A tablespoon is 1/16 cup, about 7 g, and a teaspoon is 1/3 tablespoon, about 2.3 g.

Measuring cornstarch by cup and by weight

Cornstarch is about 112 g per cup, but you rarely measure it by the cup: a tablespoon, roughly 7 g, thickens a cup of liquid into a light sauce. It packs down when stored, so a heaped tablespoon can easily be double a level one. Mix it into cold liquid before heating so it does not form lumps. In the UK, "cornflour" is the same thing.
